(Note: This is a story that appeared in the October 5, 2007 issue of India Abroad.) In 1987, I worked at the Argentine Embassy’s trade office in midtown Manhattan. It was my first proper job while starting college, and it was fun. Most of the handful of staff there were very young, and we were always laughing. Jump to the full entry & travel map Quy Nhon, Vietnam After leaving Hoi An we traveled down the coast by car to a new town for us, Quy Nhon. Quy Nhon is a coastal fishing village that is not really on the tourist map yet, but may soon be. We stayed four nights about 15 minutes south of Quy Nhon in a beachfront hotel called Life Resort. My water shot is off the fishing boat we took 15 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. The water was so choppy that half the people on the boat were throwing up.
